"Sarita is a professional dancer with an amazing background that goes from dancing with the Rockets in New York to performing in all the major cultural centers of the world.
This sculpture was a collaboration that started with a complete study of the great master sculptors of all time, and took over ten years. When I met Sarita, I shared with her the study I was making of dozens of masterpieces through the centuries. We decided to do something almost Roman Classic with a touch of Renaissance while underlining a sense of modernistic romantic expression.
I was honored to have Sarita pose for this sculpture. She had the starring role of Venus in the Opera, Venus and Adonis, at the Santa Fe Opera in 2000."
