"The inspiration for these figures came from petroglyphs depicted in a book about Anasazi rock art of New Mexico and southern Colorado. It is always a creative challenge to make a three dimensional sculpture from a two-dimensional image.
The pieces in this composition represent a female spirit as depicted with a negative space in the center of her abdomen as her contribution to the future. The male spirit is depicted as a warrior, protector and provider with an arrow in the center of his body depicted as a negative space that has an optical effect in the deep space at the edge of the arrow.
The colors, which are a produced by a multicolored patina represent a mix of the rainbow and the mystical colors of the fire when the spirits are dancing."
