"This bronze sculpture of La Madona de Santa Fe was originally a woodcarving of my depiction of an image of Mary. Pigmented patinas are placed on the bronze, which reflect the pinon-juniper dotted hills of New Mexico, the red chile ristras, and the turquoise of New Mexico Indian jewelry."
