  Marco's Inspiration:
"The bronze sculpture of San Antonio de Padua was inspired by 19th century santero Rafael Aragon. I originally carved the figure in wood, then made a latex mold and followed the lost wax process to create a bronze image. Ferric and pigmented patinas are placed on the bronze to match the natural indigo pigments used to paint the traditional woodcarvings. Religious folklore attributes San Antonio as the patron for finding lost articles, patron of animals especially burros and cattle, and patron of the home. He is often invoked by married women who want to have children and by girls to find a worthy husband."
